Settled accounts & BK

I filed for BK in 2004 and hopefully should come off my credit soon and is far enough in the past to at least let me get my credit scores up.

I ran into some issues in the summer of 2010.    I 2 late payments in my car, but now current on my car payments.   I had to stop paying my creditors and ended up setteling most of my credit cards.

I am now trying to buy a home and working on getting my credit scores up. 

I have 2 credit cards.

Cap one - Limit 3k - Balance 1500.00

Macys - Limit 300 - Balance 50,00

Car payment - 17,000 remaining

All other credit cards were settleed with the collections agencies.  

What do you guys suggest I do to raise my credit score besides pay my cards on time?

Do the OC accounts show lates or mention that they were settled? Are there any collection agencies reporting?

For the car, send a GW asking them to remove the lates.

Per the CCs, pay one to $0 and get the other to report a balance of under 9% of the CL. Doing that alone could net you 30-40 points assuming no other CCs report w/ a balance.
