I just got a bill from a collection agency regarding a valid American Express debt. This is not reporting on the CRA's. The settlement offer is attractive but I do not have the amount on hand and will need to try to negotiate the payoff. American Express has not been reporting this collection and I am afraid if I contact the CA, they will start to report it.
Since American Express is not reporting this at all, is my fear of the CA reporting this valid?
