Shopping cart trick on iPad?

Just wondering if I need to be using my desktop as opposed to my iPad when hoping for the shopping cart trick.

It worked on iPad for me, VS and Express.

So I just fill my cart, checkout, and hope it comes up? Do I need to sign in or use a guest checkout?
