I know it's only credit karma so it's FAKO but I got a 28 pt score bump for opening a new card. Crazy! myFICO was a 7pt boost. I am carrying high balances on 2 cards so both scores will plummet when they report. Either way it's nice to see...
Absolutely, very nice. Congrats!
I am hoping that some stuff will fall off this month like it is supposed to and that will help too. I will have the high cc balances paid off in the next two months. I wonder tho...when my score falls after the high balance reports, hypothetically speaking, say it falls 20 pts after I pay those balances off will I get the whole 20pts back. It just seems like its one step forward two steps back. Ex fall 20pt for the high balances and raise 10pts after they report $0 again. If that makes any sense at all!
bump
Try raising limits on your credit cards if you are able to, that usually helps. How much did the new card increase your overall credit limits by?
I have 2 CapOne's. One was opened with $300 CL almost a year ago and I got a CLI to $500 in June. The other was opened in May with a $500 CL. I don't think I could get a CLI and I don't want to chance a HP. I will have them paid off in the next couple months. What I am trying to figure out is will I get back all the points lost from the hit I'll take when they report the high balances?
What you are referring to is your util, yes, you will get a bump if you pay that util down.
Ok. Thanks
