Should I wake the dead?

Hi All,

Years ago I got in deep trouble with payday loans and also had some bounced checks. After years of of terrible scores/ high insurance rates/  and no credit available/ charge offs etc. I've passed the sol and most everything dropped off. I had one collections on my report for a $12. Check from 2003. I paid it last Oct and it triggered anew and lowered my equifax by 80 points.

Now I'm doing OK ( that's why I paid the collection ) . Anyway, I would like to make amends on some collections that have been removed but I fear they will come to life again on my credit reports. I would say they were back from 97 or 98..

Anyone have any experience? I really want to do the right thing.

Re: Should I wake the dead?

Do not confuse SOL with CRTP

All baddies can remain on your CR approx.7 years from DOFD not date paid!

If the debt was from 97-98  NO  it can not be reported!!!!  This is past CRTP

Send GW letters to the CA that you paid.  If the check was bounced in 2001 then it must be deleted. If it was in 2003 it must be deleted in 2010.  Make sure that you are not using the open date by the CA which would be incorrect.
