Simple DV worked! National Recovery Services

In looking through various posts I saw somewhere to keep the DV letter simple.  I had something on my report from National Recovery Services - did not recognize the debt at all but stated I owed over $700.  I think I copied what I read verbatim:

"I pulled my credit bureau report and I discovered that you claim I owe you a debt.  Under FDCPA 809 send me validation of this debt."

Well, thank goodness I checked my bulk folder today because I received this email response: " We do not have access to the validation information you are requesting....Because we are unable to process your validation request, weill be closing your account in our office...as a result of the closure, we have requested deletion of our trade line from your TU CR...this is the only credit reporting agency we do any reporting to...."

Yay!  and it is only on TU.

Re: Simple DV worked! National Recovery Services

Would you mind sending me a template for the DV letter?  I keep finding some very long winded ones.

Something like this is all you need. Send the letter CMRRR.

"You say I owe you a debt. Please send me validation".

"As per FDCPA 809 please send me validation of my alleged debt".

I'd like to take sole credit for the advice to keep it "short and sweet" but I read that somewhere else and just like to pass it along.

I'm glad it worked for you.

I know this is an old post, but did you email NRA or send them a letter certified with return receipt?
