State Tax lien and SSI

On my friends CR it shows a State Tax Lien  which says joint but she has no idea about it since she hasnt had to file taxes since 2002. She is still legally married but has not been living with him or in contact with him for 4yrs. They have lived apart in different states.

Is she legally responsible for this?

Yes she is. She would need to call and find out what it is for. Having a tax lien on a CR is really bad.

Ohio isn't a community property state. 

Do they own property together?   Did he possibly file and not tell her?

The part that states contractually liable debt is concerning.  It is from the Recorder of Deeds.

She can always go to the court house, or call if she is no longer in the state.

Yes he should have filing married but seperate. Did not have her permission to claim her. She has no knowledge of this. Ohio isnt a community property state???  Ok bear with me I am lost. OH courthouse is where this is filed at??  She has never lived in OH. what a mess!!

 It is from the Recorder of Deeds... does this mean they put a lien on actual property..such a house etc?  What type of property can they put a lien on beside a home?

Now Im finding out, I'd rather deal with medical :-) But I told her I would help her figure this all out. I appreciate all the help here on the forum!!

It was filed in Columbus. OH so I'm guessing it has to do with something in OH.

She needs to contact them ASAP.
