Student Loan Wage Garnishment

I had a student loan for around $3000 like 5 years ago.. I never paid it and had my wages garnished for it.. It has been paid off for a while and is showing as closed due to transfer on TU and it shows up twice on EQ as CO

I wanted to know if i could contact Dept of education and have them remove the lates on there??

Has anyone had luck with it or is it even possible??

Re: Student Loan Wage Garnishment

You can always ask them.

Government agencies are often concerned with subjective discrimination of granting some requests while denying others.

It places them in a precarious situation should they have to defend their actions.

I doubt you will have success, but it is not prohbitied.

Re: Student Loan Wage Garnishment

You probably need to contact the servicer of the loan.

If you go to www.nslds.ed.gov you can login and see all your old student loans, PELL grants, etc.  Most importantly, you can see who the servicer of the loan was and their contact info.
