Success - July 2011 1x90 late removed and I gained....

I had a 90 day late removed from my Sallie Mae account (off all but TU right now) and I pulled my EQ report today to see how many points I gained!  (This account only has 1 90 day late from 2007 left on it.)

So how much did my EQ score go up once this recent 90 day late was removed?  ZERO POINTS!  WHAT THE HELL!!!

Any gurus out there able to explain this one?  Also, my 30 day late on my other SM account dropped early and just have 1x30 late on that from Nov 2010.  Only other two baddies are CO (paid) for $109 from Verizon in July 2009 and mess of Cap1 auto with highest late of 60 days and most recent late back in March.

How in the hell is a July 2011 90 day late not worth any points? ANY?

The two 90 day and the one 90 day late might affect the score same. Just cuz you had the recent one removed does not mean that the older one still isn't hurting the same? Anything over 60 weighs for the 7 year duration.

I was hoping that wasnt the case.  At least now I only have to wait 2 years for it to fall off as opposed to 6 years!  But really, 1x90 day from 5 years ago trumps the removal of a July 2011 90 day late in terms of impact on score.  I would had thought I would gain some.

Probably not enough of a factor to warrant a boost.  Kind of funny how that works.  Look on the bright side, it's a baddie removed!

Agreed.  Like Ive said, it shortens the time from 6 years to 2 years (knocks of 4 years) until the account will have no baddies at all.  It was also a recent 90 day late and on manual review would had definitely hurt.  On another note, got my Chase Amazon's 1st statement today so that should be reporting in a couple days.  I have a zero balance on $2k CL.  That should help lower some of the hit I had for high utilization from Cap1 card.

This time next month my scores should be back to where they were prior to Isaac.  Will be nice to be back in 680-700ish range.

Re: Success - July 2011 1x90 late removed and I gained....

Thanks.  I've been obsessed with it Smiley Happy  Will be nice to be at point where I can just sit back and garden without having to worry about it.  I should be at that point in June.

I do need to add another note regarding my SM account.  My fantastic prior advocate lady really wanted to remove all of the lates but her supervisor wouldn't allow it.  She informed me of a period of time in which she wouldn't be in the office and "suggested" that I resend a GW request during that period as since she wasn't there it would have to go to another CSR and thereby another supervisor.

Her suggestion was fantastic as this CSR was able to get one of the 90 day lates removed!  I wish I knew who she was so I could buy her a drink and thank her.  So, [raises glass] here's to you Miss SM Advocate CSR Smiley Happy

@diabla. It was done on purpose. I wanted to increase my readership Smiley Wink

@bahdahd. GW's success really does seem to be luck of the draw.
