I have been reading these forums for a little over a month now, taking in a much information as possible. When I began reading in late February, I was hurting! I'd let my FICO drop to 524. This wasn't due to a bankruptcy, just mere irresponsibility. I had an awakening, so to speak, and have been obsessed with righting all of my wrong doing and cleaning up the mess I left behind. In the first month I've taken my first small steps:
- Brought all payments current
- Brought my utilization down to around 50%..A ways to go here, but better than where I started.
- Disputed a TL on my CR and it was removed.
- Called a collection agency (small local one) and asked them if they'd remove a PIF collection, and they did!
I'm proud to report that in about 45 days, my credit score has shot up to 590!
I realize that I have a loooooooong way to go, but I wanted to thank you all for inspiring me to get responsible with my credit...and giving me hope that it's not too late!
Welcome to the forums....
Way to go!!!
Congrats on your success, stay focused and keep up the good work!!!
