Hi Everyone, I am finally getting to go on vacation and will have the time to really sit down and send off my GW letters/emails. If you have any email addresses that you can provide for the creditors listed (in bold), please PM me. Trying to get to a point where I can buy a home.
Here is my profile
2 new consolidated student loan tradelines
2 CCs no lates; zero balances; (1 just over a year old, the other a few months old)
1 Capital One car loan - 4 lates (3 due to disability and 1 due to fraud activity with my checking account - had to get a new account)
BK discharged in 2006
1 paid tax judgement in 2008 (state of new york)
7 paid collections with Verizon, Jefferson Capital for Imagine, ERC for Sprint, BCR for TMobile, Goldkey (medical), IC Systems (medical), and Credit Collections (medical) - all after BK
Since I started this journey I have gotten some items deleted, paid off everything except car loan, consolidated student loans, and now looking to 1) get the lates removed from car loan tradeline, 2) get the judgement vacated and 3) get the collections deleted.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Happy Holidays!!!!!
Bump!!!!!
I don't have e-mails on any of these, but certainly don't discount snail mail. I had success with a few of these but it wasn't through a GW (DV IME).
Hi casmith1980,
I did search and have PM'd some folks asking for the info but no response. That is why I am asking for help in this manner.
Anyone that has any info (email/snail mail) for the creditors listed in the original post, Please Please Please PM me with them.
Thank you so much in advance.

HSBC/Orchard Bank Card Services (had a chargeoff with them which is what i want to remove; have a new card with them with great payment history now)
Verizon NY
Jefferson Capital (Imagine account)
Bureau of Collection Recovery (T-Mobile account)
Enhanced Recovery Company (Sprint account)
Gold Key Credit (medical)
IC Systems (medical)
Credit Collection Service (medical)
Everything is paid.
I had success with Jefferson, BCR, ERC, and maybe I C Systems (can't remember how I got IC Systems off) all by using the address listed on the CRs. I had partial success on TU with a CapOne CC for a 30 and a 90 late via their generic 800#...800-955-7070. There are also online help features on some of the OC/CA sites. I was on CapOne a sec ago to find the number and you can e-mail them too.

Hi Llecs,
I tried sending snail mail to the addresses on the CRs. I was able to get a few tradelines off that way. Took two sets of letters. The ones remaining are the ones that said they cannot remove blah blah blah. Some now even state on my reports that the lines is being reported according to FCRA guideliens.
After reading and reading here. I have learned that you start with that address and then you start to go up the food chain from there if that doesn't work which is what I am attempting to do now.
My old CapOne Card is a charge off so the phone thing wont work. I have a new card with them for over a year and have paid it off on time every month and even recently got a huge credit limit increase. Trying to move up the ladder now to see who will be able to help me with removing the old charge off tradeline leaving only the new card. Same deal with HSBC.
My CapOne Auto has 4 30-day lates from July 2010 to now. 3 were from when I was on disability and getting two thirds pay and the most recent one was from this past May when someone got my checking account information and i had to close the account and open a new account and the payment got hung up because it was scheduled for the old account and even though there were notes in my account to allow it to pay they returned it and it caused me to be late. I can get a letter to prove it which I planned on attaching to my GW request. I also have data to prove my disability which I was thinking about if I should send that as well.
All the rest are paid collections.
Probably 95% of the time, you'll get a "NO!" to the GW requests (or PFD too as far as that goes). It's a numbers game. If at first you don't succeed.... And they'll tell you all sorts of things like it's illegal (no, it isn't), or they have to comply with the FCRA, or some will say "federal law" to make it sound more important. Some will be honest and just say "no" without giving excuses. But it's a numbers game and it might take multiples of tries before your letter lands in the right hands. My success has been fairly limited with GWs and PFDs compared to others on here, but I've never been successful on the first try. It always took at least a dozen tries before I saw any changes. On a Verizon Wireless PFD alone, I literally sent over 100 PFDs before they finally said "yes". The other 99 didn't matter. I was just looking for the one and found it. I was sending up to 12-15 per month for over a year on that one. Point I'm making is this: don't get discouraged after a "no".
In terms of heirarchy, I started at the bottom and slowly worked my way up. In reading in here, others had more success at front-line CSRs than they did with the execs. It's not that common to read of success involving an officer. Not saying it doesn't happen, but it isn't that common. I always started with the address on my CR for GWs and PFDs. If they said no or 30-45 days passed, then I'd send another GW to that same address (most always it'll go to a different person at that level) and I would add their corporate address. . If the answer was "no" or I had no response, then I'd send a letter to the CR address, the corporate address, and I'd add a new one like a dispute address, a SEC filing address, an address listed in their privacy policy, address listed in any correspondence, an address listed by a CSR when I would call each month, etc.. I'd repeat the process again for the forth and fifth and sixth months adding a new address each time. Once I ran out of new addresses and new ones weren't coming in, then I'd consider an officer like a CEO, Pres, EVP, CFO, or whatever their chain of command was. By the end of 7 months, I would have send a total of 28 GWs/PFDs. And I would never send a GW/PFD more than once to the same person.
