starry1 was your scores close to where they are now when you got the 500.00 for NFCU?

I have 500.00 sitting in my savings and wondering it it wouldnt just be easier for me to start off secured and ride it out for a yr and let it graduate to unsecured? Tossed on which way to go!

My score was 617 the day I apped for the nRewards. I wish I had waited another week because I got another bump to 634 then. It really doesn't matter with Navy, if they want to give you a chance they will pretty much regardless of score. I've read where Navy got tough with unsecuring cards, so i would just app for the nRewards and see if they counter with secured.

Thanks for the info, guess I am back to waiting for a few more bumps!

Just seems crazy to dive 3 hrs 1 way for me for a 500 card but it being NFCU, its almost worth it from what I read!

My 2 Cap 1 charge offs were paid March 8th but Cap 1 updates on the 3rd so I am sure have to wait for 4/3 for it to show them paid and finally report zero! Yours might be the same way.
