About six weeks ago I recieved a letter from a CA informing me they have accepted my GW request for a paid collection. As of today, none of the three credit bureau's had deleted it yet. About two weeks ago I sent the acceptence letter to all three credit bureau's along with all the necessary documents (state ID, ss card, proof of address, etc). When I got somebody on the phone from TU yesterday, I was told it was "under investigation" under Nov 24th.
Why would it be under investigation? Aren't investigations only for disputes? This was a paid collection, nothing to dispute. Any insight would be appreciated!
Even if the CA said they'll delete, asking the CRAs to followup with the CA's promise will still result in a dispute. They still have to contact the CA, verify the letter, etc. I'd wait it out. If it gets verified, then re-contact the CA.
Ahhh, got it. Thanks for the response. I'll just be patient, relax, and see what happens.
