TU disputes

It says 1 of 5 completed. Does that mean that the completed one is going to get deleted? Being hopeful lol.

Re: TU disputes

You should soon know the outcome, and not have to speculate.

The CRA, unless they dismiss a dispute as frivolous or irrelevant, must normally complete their reinvestigation within 30 days for filing, and then send their formal Notice of Results of Reinvestigation within 5 business days thereafter.  Thus, there are statutory periods at work.

As for whether deletion willl be an outcome, "deletion" would only apply to the information that was subject to the dispute, not necessarily to the account itself.

What was the specific information that was asserted to be inaccurate, and is it readily correctible without need to delete?

Re: TU disputes

My experience with TU says that when things show as resolved right away (within a few days) they are deleted. Things that take longer are typically waiting to hear from CA and may or may not be deleted.

Re: TU disputes

Do they send a report telling you the outcome?

Re: TU disputes

I believe they send you notice, or at least an updated copy of your report.

Re: TU disputes

They are requried to send a Notice of Results of Reinvestigation no later than 5 business days after conclusion of the reinvestigation period.

If the outcome of the dispute results in the correction or deletion of information, the FCRA also requries that they provide a copy of a revised credit report evidencing that they have actually made the identified changes or deletions.
