I am curious about Target reopening a closed account OR if they would approve me for another account if I were to apply now.
I opened the card in 11/08, was never late once on it and they closed it because of 1 returned payment in 12/09. The payment was returned because when went to make the payment online, I selected the wrong payment account. At that time, I had 2 checking accounts, 1 with WF and 1 with BofA that I barely used and was transitioning away from. I had no returned payments prior to this one. On two of my reports, they still update monthly that I pay as agreed, which is the weirdest thing!
Anyone have experience/thoughts in this area??

They more than likely won't reopen the closed account. I've seen posters in the CC forum who have had closed accounts and later opened new ones. I would think it'll depend on if your current credit profile meets their approval. Maybe if you post in the cc forum and look at recent target approvals from other members you will get a better idea of your chances of approval.
