In may of this year I had decided I wanted to move out of my parents home. I thought about getting a an apartment but started researching homes. I had a bankruptcy discharged almost two years ago and thought why not? So I applied for a home through chase and quicken, I was denied by both and reached out to quicken to see why, they said it was that my 2 years hadn't passed and my scores were in the 500s, plus my tradelines weren't old enough. I spoke to my mothers LO who told me that what really mattered was the score and bankruptcy qualifications which I was months away from achievement. So I went to work. I joined this site and experian's site and watched my credit like a hawk. It because my second job. I wrote GW letters and had two collections come off. I went through my credit because if you had a bk there bound to be errors. I was able to correct those things and my scores went up about 30 points. Finally I paid down a lot of my credit cards to about 33% utilization. I was then at a max score of 677 when my max score before was 598! Although I didn't get my home due to my screwed up tax returns(a whole other story ) I am proud that I was able to do this much from the advice on this site. No worries ill be back at it next year and can't wait to get my house!!!! You guys will hit your goals just don't give up !
