I've raised my husband's TU score 99 points in less than 3 months thanks to this forum. We are officially applying for our USDA guranteed mortgage today.
Started with 7 collection accounts
3 unpaid CO accounts
a foreclosure
negative student loan account with 120 days late
Now have
No collection accounts, foreclosure, or negative student loans
1 unpaid and 1 paid CO (6.5 year old)
PFD's...and techincally the P obviously stands for pay, but I also think it stands for persistance are my friend
I'll still be hanging out, we're not quitting til we hit 700+
I am happy to hear of your success. Success stories like yours gives me a lot of hope. Good luck with your mortgage ap!!
What did you do to get rid of your student loan lates??
They were reporting incorrectly from 2005. we had rehabbed them a couple years ago which was supposed to eliminate the lates and bring them current. I sent them a GW adjustment and they fixed them.
Congratulations.. That is awesome!!!

The greatest of luck to you......inspiring as well.
Yep lender pulled the exact same scores as here as myfico
Eq 643, TU 652, Ex 633
so we are pre-approved. They are an "in house" lender so as long as the file passes the USDA system (and really it should) then there are no issues. As long as we close within 90 days, there is no repull.
now I'll be obsessed with raising the score just in case we have to repull. I know we'll take a hit for the inquiry.
Great news! May I ask who the student loan is through and how you were able to get the late reporting removed? I’m attempting the same thing – with little success so far!
It's through Direct Loans. (although we justgot news yesterday that they are now sending us to another servicer)
