So I am on this forum pretty often, but don't post a lot. For the past year I have been working to rebuild my credit and initially thought I could bring up scores that were in the mid 500 range to 700 in a year. Long and short of the story, it did not happen, but was happened is a new relationship that I have with my money and paying my bills on time. I had several misreported credit items on my report that were because my brother and I have very similar names. I opened up two credit cards and have been paying them on time, paying off my school debt and setting up payments for two accounts that I am unable to get pfd. What I've learned is that rebuilding my credit will take time and that is okay. That is how the process is suppose to work. We can't take care of our credit issues overnight, learning new behavior does not happen overnight. So here is what has happened my credit score has gone up anywhere from 80-100 points across the board.
I feel like I am on the path to true financial stability and it feels great and it is in large part due to this group. So just want to send out a big thank you to y'all!!
Peace,
SassyMomma
Congratulations!
What are your scores looking like?
Congrats
WOW 4us- I see that you filed BK in June and your post BK score is already in the mid 600's. Is there any advice you can shoot over to someone who is about to file. And yes, completely new to the forum and process!
Thanks
Excellent! Congrats!
Keep the debt low and keep going forward! Nothing of ANY VALUE comes easily. Congrats.
Congrats!!!
I never filed for BK. I just have a really bad credit score and working on getting it together. For me there were serious errors on my credit report, my brother has a judgment and has a very dilinquent bill, so getting those off helped immensely. Now I am just dealing with my own craziness. Hope that helps. Peace!
Love your three P's!!
