*UPDATE*
My Experian score has raised to 562 from 553 with the approval of the CreditOne account!! Yes!
Because of this I got app happy and applied for the Amazon store card and was DENIED. I won't apply to any others until I have a zero balance on my FNB secured card as my report is currently showing 112% utilization, which is not current.
My two focuses are pay off the collection debt from my school and pay down my secured FNB card. I would like to do a PFD scenario for the collection debt if possible, any good advice to go about this?
Thanks so much!
Good afternoon poeple!
I wanted to give a more updated and in depth snapshot of my scenario and (in progress) action plan in hopes of some valuable insight to achieve my goal of at least mid 600s by this time next year. I know I have been irresponsible and want to make a conscious effort to correct mistakes I made when I was in my early 20s. Any suggestions in addition to what I have added is GREATLY appreciated!
For the paid collections accounts I plan to GW the hell out of them in hopes of getting removed. I also plan to negotaite a PFD with Chase, Credit Untion and Discover CC CO in hopes of dropping utilizaiton and boosing score! I called Chase today to tackle since I can afford 30-50% today but they are not open. I think with those 3 and praying for a GW removal I can acheive my goal. I have also just been approved for a Credit One unsecured CC with $300 limit, so that should be added to report fairly soon.
Any sound advice that I may be missing would help me tons, I have read so many stories and advice here that has been helpful and boosted my confidence in going after a 700 score. At my best I was a 695. I'd like to have an AmEx card in my wallet by 2018 and be in the 700s!

Back to your question about selling your vehicle- if you can sell it and pay it off your good payment history will stay on your report for 10 years, so there is no harm in selling it.
Thank you for the feedback regarding the vehicle. My only concern is since I don't have very many other accounts to make payments, in good standing, is it more wise to keep paying for the good history? Although I live in NYC and the expense is not needed, I can afford it, but I want to do the best for my report.

Yes. You will still have the good payment history. You can use the money you would be paying to that to pay off those baddies one by one. That will help your score too. Those new CCs will help you with the current payments. Use them for things you would usually pay for and pay them off each month. Set a goal to stay there, maybe 6 months, and then you should be able to app for some better cards and continue to grow.
