Re: This is what's left!!!! What would you do?

Again...You need to have ALL these collections removed from your report.

People on these forums regularly report gaining 30 and 40 points from old collections dropping off their report after 7 years.

If you leave 3 collections on your report your scores will lose 100 points. Please don't do that.

The EQ is probably dropping because of that maxxed card. High utilization can drop your scores from 30 to 90 points. You need to work on getting that under control.

You can do this!

Okay, I will.  Jamie can you give me an example of an older collection account?  The ones I have will fall off within the next two years but they are the older ones.  I will pay them and get them off, Just need to know how.  Smiley Happy

I agree with all the above, you need to be concerned with clearing your reports. If it were me I wouldn't even think about score right now, even if it went up it wouldn't do you a whole bunch of good if you still had all those accounts listed.

Re: This is what's left!!!! What would you do?

OK... I been trying to look and see how to do this.  If they say no to a PFD cant it reage the account?  I am sort of nervous about re-aging it.  What is the best way to handle it?  Anyone?

Re: This is what's left!!!! What would you do?

It definately won't re-age the account as long as you don't get sucked-in to making a partial payment. Send PFD letters just like the others. The older accounts could actually be easier to get off your reports. The CAs know they will age off in two years and be worthless to them. You have the money, they want the money, make a deal!

Do it just like the others. Send the PFD and wait for their response.

You are halfway there, don't stop now! You are doing great!

You just started doing this a month ago and you already have 4 down! That's awesome!

You may also try to contact the OC and see if they will pull back from the CA and you can pay them. Some medical providers have been known to do that on occasion.

Re: This is what's left!!!! What would you do?

I will pay the 92.00 this week and the 75.00 so it dosent come back on.  The 156 PFD letter is out to settle for 117.00.   The other two I will send PFD letters out probably at the end of the month and see if that would work.
