Wells Fargo is a tough nut to crack. Several letters sent, several letters received back. None were good. Infact, one felt obligated to add a dispute to my CR. I called the number on the letter to have the dispute reference removed from my CR but just got voice mail. Not happy with that, I called the Executive Office. Nice guy answers and after telling him I wasn't disputing the records, just asking for some love, he says it's against Federal law to remove derogs. Ooookaaaay I tell him. He then tells me to hold on while he pulls up the scanned copy of my letter. WTH??? Apparently these get entered into your file and become a part of your records. Oh boy.
Not what I was hoping for with this endeavor. I might think twice before send any additional letters.
It is not uncommon for a GW to turn into a dispute.
Really? Against federal law? There is no law stating what must and must not be reported. The law just states that anything that is reported must be accurate. It doesn't say they have to post anything at all.
Sidebar. I believe Discover even has a new commercial talking about late forgiveness. You would think if something was against federal law, there would not be a major advertising campaing for their law breaking.
Edited because I left out that little blue word up there.
I got a GW from WF before I even knew it was called a GW :-) The were reporting incorrect information and I wrote a not so nice letter with a check for 69.00 and told them where to shove that check and I wanted the whole account removed off the CR becuase they messed up and was making me look bad.
I got a letter thanking me for the payment and an apology and agreement to remove the TL from all 3 CRA.
I told told the account was paid off and when I pulled CR there was a collections for 69.00. Yep I wasnt happy! but its gone now :-)
