Toll fee collection

So my little brother used my car and somehow ended up with a toll fee collection for $45 (dang it). How should I go about getting it off my record? I read that most CA won't do PFD because of the amount. Should I just DV first?

Thanks.

Starting Score: 2/22/12: EQ 530, TU 553, EX 528(lender). 12/4/12 (rebuilding starts)= EQ 599.
Current Score: 7/2/2013: EQ 712, TU FICO 702, EX 716(CU pulled).
Goal Score: 750 all across.

What CA is it?

I would send a DV and see if they respond.

I would then send a PFD. If they dont accept after a couple tries, I would pay it and try to GW..

Re: Toll fee collection

You can send a DV, but a DV is not a cure-all.

It requries them, if timely sent, to cease collection activities until they provide verification.

I would presume that, with identification of the debt as having occured with a public agency, they will have little trouble in stating the debt is valid.

You can DV first, but chances are validation will be simple, leaving you back at square one.

I would offer the PFD.

Re: Toll fee collection

+1 Both of them.  Scott says to DV them.  I like DVs, especially if timely, they are a powerful tool.  Robert says PFD them, I like this option too.  It's kind of a toss up.  So my advice is both of them.  DV them, if they verify and you agree, send a PFD.  It's a small amount, maybe they will cave.  I had an account similiar like this for $63 from Pike Pass, a type of toll.  I paid it and sent a GW.  They were friendly, sent me a letter and deleted.

Re: Toll fee collection

There are multiple threads on EOS CCA as well and most of them look promising as far as deletion. If I'm not mistaken you should see some good progress with this particular collection.
