You want at least five credit cards. Have you tried Capital One?
If Barclays will take you on I'm sure Cap1 will. Try their prequalify site. If they match your information to an offer you are very likely to be approved.
Get a QS1 and a Platinum Mastercard. Apply for both the same day and it should only be a single inquiry (to all three bureaus).
