I disputed a few collection accounts on my credit reports, and Transunion came back first with 2 accounts deleted. I started with 11 collection accounts total, now its down to 8 (I don't know what happened to the 3rd account that disappeared from my credit report. Oh well!), with 6 falling off by July 2013. The two accounts that were deleted by Transunion were scheduled to fall off in 2014 and 2015. Valid or not, they're gone now! My mortgage application may come sooner than anticipated!

That's awesome! Just remember if they weren't scheduled to fall off yet that they could pop up again some time, but a victory right now is a victory!

Even though the CA didn't validate?
Well I'm not saying with the SAME CA, but a different one. A valid debt is a valid debt, and someone may find the shoebox it was hiding in one day and try to collect on it. Until the 7.5 years is up you should always consider the fact that it COULD appear.

+1 Any unpaid debt has a chance of surfacing at anytime, and usually will at the most inopportune time.

Not just an inoppurtune time but when you apply for a mortgage the CRAS send notice to debt collectors when there is certain activity on your reports such as a mortgage inquiry. If i could I would not app for mortgage until last second and request an immediate close if they want the business. LOL
