Trying recon with Citi

I typed up this long post and I deleted it by accident.

Trying recon w/ citi.

Recieved my free EQ report.

Shows 2 baddies.

1st is my repo, but I have an issue with what is being reported.  EQ is showing my first 30 day late was Jan of 08 when I know I stopped paying it around sept/oct 07'.  Then it shows as being paid as agreed in apr of 08' then repo'ed in May of 08'

Any suggestions?

2nd baddie - Amex

Should I try a GW to have it removed?  It's a paid collections that I regret everyday, as it went into collections from a $5 late fee AFTER the card was closed - ugg.

5/2012: 560 credit scores across the board and $500 secured CC
12/2014: 750+ scores across the board and $80k in revolving credit

Re: Trying recon with Citi

If the 30 day late is showing as of Jan 08, it has stopped impacting. 30 day late payments impact FICO for 2 years.. once that was repoed and charged off, those became the baddies you need to be concerned with.. If that was the ONLY negative thing on your report? It MIGHT still be impacting but the rule of thumb is 30 days, it stops impacting at 2 years.

Re: Trying recon with Citi

That I understand.  My concern is that the DOFD should be sept/oct of 07 and NOT 01/08, as I know I stopped making payments as soon as I lost my job in sept/oct of 08.

My personal opinion is that if the dates are only a couple months off, it might not be worth it to dispute as it would only change the fall off date by a couple months..

Disputing information, whether with the CRA or the creditor, will never reset any SOL or CRTP.

Re: Trying recon with Citi

Did Citi deny your credit app because you have a repo listed on it?  Yikes!!!  If that's the case, I wonder if my husband will EVER get a real credit card.  His credit report is full of excellent information reporting from our secured credit cards.  The ONLY baddie that he has is the repo.  We've tried and tried to GW it away with no success.  This is so disheartening.

Husband's Current Score: EX 691 CUSC; EQ 694; TU 687; Mine: EX 773 (AMEX); EQ 720; TU 750
Wallet Contents: SECURED: Capital One Platinum Mastercard, US Bank Harley Davidson Visa, USAA Bank American Express;
UNSECURED: Chase Freedom; USAA Cash Rewards World Mastercard, Discover More, CUSC Platinum Rewards Visa, American Express Zinc, American Express Blue Cash Preferred, Amazon Card, Walmart Discover Card

Re: Trying recon with Citi

No, not specifically, but I only have 2 baddies on my CRs and one is a CO from a repo and the other is a paid collections from Amex.  And it stated it denied me due to two delinquent accounts on my CRs.
