I wanted to share the surprisingly quick and hassle free process it was to remove a legitimately unauthorized hard inquiry from Verizon as a non-customer of them.
The problem stemmed I believe when I was "window shopping" online to see what the total cost of some of their phones would be including taxes. To get to the final cost page, they needed way too much information including a social security number (which I've since learned is a tall tale sign it will be a hard inquiry). I was definitely foolish to assume they wouldn't pull your credit report if you didn't complete a transaction with them.
Sent off a letter to the CB just vaguely mentioning this inquiry is unauthorized from never being a customer. A little over a week later, I'm surprised to see it's been removed with no hassle or frustration.
