Would it be counterproductive to have an unsecured and secured card reporting while trying to rebuild? I currently have two low limit cards ($300CL each) and just got approved for NFCU nrewards unsecured visa (1000CL). I want to open the secured nrewards to add another card that I could make CL increases to until the CL is 5000, if that makes any sense. Any suggestions/advice?

How were you able to get the card from NFCU?

@doc101 My Grandfather is retired Army. I became a member and applied for n-rewards visa same day. They pulled EQ and TU. Got approval text message to my phone this morning. Expected denial because my util is high and I have 5-6 baddies but only 3-4 inquiries and six months paid on time for the two cap1 cards may have helped.

I have 2 uncles retired from the Army, maybe this is my cue to join. Do I need any info from them to join?

I needed no info but what branch my grandfather retired from. not even his name or rank was asked.

What is NFCU if you don't mind?

Not a problem at all, you want those positve TLs.
