Updating Satisfaction of Judgment--Civil Suit: Will it hurt my score?

Will it hurt my score to have an old civil plaintiff (creditor) whose money I've paid back in full (years ago) file a Satisfaction of Judgment with the court so that the CRAs can update the status of the judgment to "Paid in Full"?  The judgment is due to fall off in September of 2011, though the judgment was entered 9/2004. Is that right? 7 years for a public record civil suit baddie?

Will updating the status do me any good? I've been trying to get this handled for so long, but finally talked to an attorney because now I have legal insurance through work (ARAG). I'd like to see if it's possible for me to buy a house, and there's not reason for this not to reflect as Paid, since I paid it a million years ago.

I'm also considering asking the judge to have it set aside, by filing a motion to vacate. But that's such an involved process. It doesn't seem worth it when it's so close to aging off.

Thoughts?
