Hey guys,
I'm returning from a lil break after buying a house in 2010 (thanks to MyFico). Thankfully, I was able to use the tips here to get my score from 580 to 700 for the mortgage approval. So after closing, I applied for several credit cards to buy things for the new house (they're all 95-100% at the limit). So my question is that my FICO score for TU is reporting as 630. I have a couple lates, 2 finance companies and 5 credit cards at the max. Do you guys think the high balances is killing the score or the combination of the lates and high balances?
Thanks for your input.
How old are the lates?
Your high utilization is an absolute score killer. Depending on the age of the lates that could very possibly hinder your score also.
Plus the fact all of your CC are maxed out. The less cards with a balance, the better FICO likes it.
There's 2 lates, one from 2012 and one from 2013.
These would also be depressing your score as well currently, once they go past 24 months they dont affect the score that much. Your utilization as already stated is a big killer as well.
Adding: On the lates what I said applies to 30/60 days any more and it will affect score longer.
They're both 30 days lates. Thanks for your help
