Re: Utilization sweet spots

You should stay under 30%.  I have done that for the last 3 months but when I look under the reasons why my score is still low it says I need to get my utilization under 7%.  I'm going to try that this month and see if there is a big difference in my score.  All 3 scores has been around 620 for the last 3 months it will go up or down by no more than 5 pts...I'm not expecting a big gain but I'll let you know what happens.

Re: Utilization sweet spots

Thresholds:
8.9%, 28.9%, 48.9%, 68.9%, 88.9%

Below 8.9% is best; below 28.9% but at or higher than 8.9% is OK (maybe 2 - 5 point score ding depending on profile); at or higher than 28.9% is where most start seeing big score penalties.

Re: Utilization sweet spots

Would anyone know what the thresholds are for Installment loans, such as auto?

Year 2012: All Scores in the 520 range, during a foreclosure, CC Settlement and high UTIL. Very ugly days...
April 2024: EX8: 840; EQ8: 832; TU8: 842 -- Middle Mortgage Score: 822
In My Wallet: Discover $73.7K; Cap1 Venture $51.7K; Amex ED $38K; Amex Optima $2.5K; Amex Delta Gold $18K; Citi Costco $24.5K; Cap1 Plat $8.4K; Barclay $7K; Chase Amazon $6K; BoA Plat $21.6K; Citi TY Pref $22K; US Bank $4K; Dell $5K; Care Credit $6.5K. Total Revolving CL: $300K+
My UTIL: Less than 1% - Only allow about $20 a month to report, on one account. .

Re: Utilization sweet spots

I think the same thresholds apply to installments (almost sure).
