I'm getting ready to PIF a 1-year old judgment (former landlord) of $875. My question is, does anyone know how I find out if my state (New Mexico) allows for a paid judgment to be vacated? Perhaps I'm searching wrong- or using the wrong terminology- but I have been unable to find anything on this at all.
Thanks in advance!
Not sure if you'll be able to vacate the judgment (getting it vacated is like it never existed), but you most definitely will be able to get it to show as a SATISFIED judgment, meaning a collection agency or other won't be able to come after you once that's done. Start by the contacting the court where the judgment is and get more info.
I did some research and it appears you can file a motion to have it vacated after satisfaction. NM statutes are not that easy to read or follow.

Great! Thank you both for the responses.
I called the county clerk for my judgment in Indiana and she did not know anything about a motion to vacate. She sent me the satisfaction of judgement letter and asked me to send that to the CRA and see if they would remove it that way. I am trying that now.
