OC (Verizon in this case) is not required to delete reporting or stop reporting the monthly delinquency when an account goes to collections. Utilities/Communications normally report as revolving, because they can have varying balances due each month. Verizon is one of the wosrt ones to have because they are absolutely ruthless in their reporting. They will report every month as late, even after charging it off. Most others will stop reporting late months after charge off, though its not technically required.
If it has gone to a collector, they can and will report as well. I would suggest trying to cut a deal with the CA if thats the case, to get the monthly reporting to stop.
