Very old closed accounts -- delete?

I have a couple of very old department store accounts on my CR. Both are closed with no activity for nearly 10 years. One reports every month as ND  (= no data), and other just sits there with no reporting.

Is it harmful to have these on my CR?

It is helpful in that they count in your average age of acxcounts calculation.

You will soon see them mysteriously disappear.

The CRAs have an internal housecleaning policy of deleting accounts after they have been closed for approx 10 years.

Such deletions are not controlled under the FCRA, and can vary widely in when they occur.

I personally had an old account that was not deleted until 15 years after its closure.
