SO I spoke to a rep about my chargeoff from 2004 (store card)

I explained to him that the debt was purchased by assett acceptance and that the chargeoff is marked as paid

he then told me he would send a letter to the CRAs to remove the chargeoff since it is marked as paid

believable or not?

I cant just say put it in writing

they are doing me a favor

it is not due to come off until 2010

he said since it spaid hed send a letter to have it removed

what else can i do? call again and folow up and bother other reps?

I wouldn't call again.  Give it some time (maybe a couple weeks) & check your reports & see if it's gone.  If not...send a GW!  No more calls.  If you send a letter, you get one back...thus, in writing.
