I understand your goal is to get it paid..as it should be.
However, your other goal should be to strike a deal with the plaintiff attorney in the case.
You will pay the settlement if they agree to have the judgment vacated.
Just because you are agreeing to pay for less than what is owed ultimately means nothing if they agree with it and it is vacated. These deals are made all the time. Unless the plaintiff atty is a real P***K he shouldn't have a problem in doing so. It is a win/win for everyone; he still makes his client happy, he still makes money and you get the judgment removed from your credit.
If the OC is still reporting it as a charge off or sold to another lender etc. you will have to deal with them on that. However, you can have the judgment removed from your reports once it is vacated.
