Walmart Credit Card - easy to get?

I've been reading about the benefits of the Walmart credit card and am wondering how easy it is to get. I don't want to use an inquiry unless I'm fairly confident that I'm in the range that they will approve, I received a pre-qualified JCP app a few weeks ago. Was thinking about sending that in but I'd be more likely to use this one.

I was denied with a TU 599, credit file: no previous revolving credit, a 13 month car loan, student loans in repayment and an unpaid judgment. When I called to recon, credit analyst said I needed at least six months of CC payment history to be approved.

My Sams card is a GE product so if you have any other GE products and no issues with them, that could help as well.  I would take the Walmart card oover JCP any day since it could lead to other things down the road.

Is there a best time to apply for a new card? I have 3 cards, two with CLs of $750.00 and one with $300. The cards with $750 CLs have balances of about $700 and $650. Those will be knocked down to about $200. in two weeks. The card with the $300. CL has a balance of $120. I pay them down then use them for monthly expenses. Just keep the cycle going each month. Sometimes pay extra, sometimes spend extra. Depends on the month. Is it better to apply for a new card a few days after significantly paying down a card so they aren't shown as having most of the available credit used?

Scores usually updated on the credit bureaus a few days after your statement cut... I think it would be better until you get your utilization down and then apply.. Walmart is not that hard to get... I was in the high 500's to low 600's when I got approve last May... I had 3 collections 4-5 yrs ago at the time and probably 5-6 charge offs 6-7 yrs old...

when i hit 6 mos credit and obtained my tu fico was 683 and denied with walmart. reasons were length of time of accounts and collection which was from 06 and inquiries i had 4 at the time so ymmv and you cannot recon if denied

So I guess it's 50/50 in the end. Might get it if I apply soon or I might not. Could try and have an inquiry or, not try, wait a year, keep using and paying, longer time with my current cards, scores will go up without me watching them and most likely, credit offers will come in as they have been. Most haven't been that great to I toss them in the trash (interest from the date of purchase, very high rates ect...).  I'm going to need a new computer soon but got shot down but Apple's financing company. Guess there is no rush but the Walmart card would be the most practical.
