Weird score change

So I got an alert today that I received an inquiry from NFCU which I authorized. (I have 12 inquiries. I know I need to garden but had to app for a loan to pay for a funeral.) weird thing was my score jumped 6 points. Can anyone explain why it jumped? Balances remain the same on all other accounts.

I would say it was not the inquiry that caused the score to increade bu other factor(s) on your credit report.

That's so strange, the same thing happened to me today also. I received a score alert for a five point jump even though the alert said that they found one new inquiry on my report. It also said, however, that it's possible that some older collections aren't effecting my account as much anymore. Darn! I wish I hadn't applied for that silly card so that my score would have gone up a little more!

Could just be a jump from your accounts aging this month.
