What are account level documents?

I keep reading about receiving account level documents from Debt collectors.  I know one of my medical collections sent me information which had my signature but I'm not sure if this would be deemed account level.

Unless the term is derived from a statute or reg, which will then provide its own definition, then it likely has no formal definition.

The federal FDCPA does not, for example, even require documentation, and case law interpretation of the FDCPA validation requirement varies widely.

Some states have enhanced debt collection practices statutes which specify explicit account documents that are required for adequate debt validation.

If you are requesting documentation under such a state reg or statute, the types of original creditor account documents that may be required would be clearly specified.

Otherwise, there would be no explicit definition.
