I dv'd Cavalry about an AT&T account for 433.95. I got this letter yesterday:
Dear Customer:
This is to inform you that Cavalry Portfolio Services has closed your account.
If you have any further...yada yada yada.
Does this mean that this will be removed from my CRs? I'm afraid to call. Should I send a letter?

Same letter I received back when I started and DV'd Cavalry. It was for an ATT account as well.
Apparently Cavalry had a bunch of ATT accounts at one time, but don't have them any longer.
Mine was removed within 30 days.

Since you DV'd and in result, they closed your account...they will have to delete because:
a) Accounts which have been cancelled and returned to the original creditor.
b) Accounts which have been forwarded or sold to another company or entity.
c) Accounts reported in error.
