Re: What is my best plan for this?

1. What is a factoring account?

2. This is being reported monthly...every single month!

Re: What is my best plan for this?

Since the debt is so small- I think a PFD could be effective.

Re: What is my best plan for this?

I have offered to PIF for a PFD and been rejected about 5 times now.

If you just pay it- they have no choice but to say it's PIF.. thats the facts.   Also, if you are in VA- I'm pretty sure the SOL is up on this, so they can't collect anyway.  You could use that as leverage and say-- I want this off and even though you aren't tnitiled to anything- I'm willing to pay only if you take this off.

Re: What is my best plan for this?

well, I refuse to PIF unless they give me a PFD. I can wait it out if need be for it to fall off on its own.

I was in VA when we had this account, but now live in Alabama. I think that the VA SOL would remain since that is where this account was opened. It is also a utility account, so i'm sure they couldn't use AL SOL, right?

Re: What is my best plan for this?

They can use either state- The one that benefits them.  VA is 4 years and Alabama is 6 years, so i'm sure they would use Alabama.  One important question- during any of your communication with them, did you acknowledge tghe debt as yours?  If you did, that restyarts the statute from when you do that.  If not, this falls off next year in AL.  You might try to uswe the VA SoL in your next communication and see how they respond.  It's worth a try or just wait these stubborn fools out.

May I ask why you refuse to PIF without a PFD?

I removed 13 accounts with GW after PIF, and one of those was Portfolio Recovery.

Sometimes, just being stubborn doesn't always mean the best choices for credit repair.

Re: What is my best plan for this?

Also; I went through the exact same thing you currently are:

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Rebuilding-Your-Credit/Portfolio-Recovery-intentionally-messing-with...

My end game solution out of frustration was to just pay in full, and take the gamble with GW..

It was off the report less than a month after I paid..
