Re: What kind of bump when card reports?

I was under the impression your score drops at first bc it lowers the AAoA when a new card reports...

It can but the bump you get for the new TL could overshadow that.

Good to know. We'll have a fingerhut revolving acct and cap 1 reporting within the next couple of months, I was expecting a pretty big drop (at least 20 pts) maybe it wont be as bad of a drop, or a bump.

Re: What kind of bump when card reports?

I too am interested in this. In the next 30-60 days I should have the following TLs appearing:

  • USBank Secured Visa ($300 CL)
  • Fingerhut FreshStart ($130 CL)
  • DCU Secured Visa ($500 CL)

With a little luck these should also be dropping off:

  • First Premier CO (~$438): filed 623 dispute because OC was not able to find account in their system despite being charged off in late 2012 or early 2013
  • Salute Visa CO (~$1100): thanks to FTC order
  • Midland CA (~$1300): if OC deletes account, they will be unable to verify, hence deleted.

Is hoping for a 50-80 point increase too realistic (considering there are about another dozen or so baddies left)? Hello 600 club, maybe!

Current cards: US Bank LANPass Secured Visa ($300) | Fingerhut FreshStart ($130) | DCU Secured Visa ($500 - DECLINED)

Starting Score: TU 486 | EX 510 | EQ ???
Current Score: TU 486 | EX 510 | EQ ???
Goal Score: 700

Re: What kind of bump when card reports?

It depends on the amount of available credit you have for instance if your card is for $1,000 and you charge your gas for the month you still have a nice amount of available credit which is good! I had a credit card report a 13,000 CL and I owe $248 and I'm paying that off next month my score went up on T/U 50 points in one day.

Re: What kind of bump when card reports?

I opened a Capital card in March, it just reported last week for the first time, I went from 636 up to a 643. However I just got hit the week prior with a bogus debt that I'm trying to resolve so that is most likely downsizing the affect of the new line of credit.
