3 years ago I sponsored a foreign person's account so they could sign up with Verizon. I was part of signup, but never involved again - they handled all payments. They've left the country and I've discovered there is a $386 account closed in my name that is hurting my credit score. There is also incorrect information I can dispute.
GOAL: Remove all trace of this in my credit report.
Currently listed as a 10 month late account for $386. It mentions collections in some parts but isn't listed as a under a collection account in others. I've attached links to images with account details (one from experian, one from creditkarma).
What should I do to have this negative account removed, for an account I only sponsored 3 years ago? Pay all of the balance now? Send letters? Dispute? PFB? Other? Help is appreciated!
