What to keep what to close

Well I have done a lot of reading and have a couple of questions. I starting rebuilding about 6 months ago my scores were in the mid 500's😞. My scores now are Exp 672 TU 675 EQ 642😁. At first I couldn't get any decent cards so I went with the subprime😕 . Since those few I have gotten better cards so I am thinking of closing the terrible cards. Below is my list and seeking opinions if I should close the sub prime cards just yet or them to age a bit?

First premier. 0. 700 cl
Credit one 0. 700 cl
Indigo. 0. 300cl
Lend up 0. 500 cl
Ollo 0. 500cl
Now FP and CO are crap cards I dont use them Lend up has high Apr don't use and Ollo gives me free score might keep that for score but don't use any of these. I have had.the cards about 3-6 months on these.

The better:
Cap one 1000cl
Cap one. 750cl
Discover 1200cl
Amazon store 3000cl
Walmart. 2000cl
Macy's. 1000cl

So would you tecoommend ditching the sub prime ones as the totals won't do much more to my available credit.

Thanks in advance

Dump the trash and keep the new treasures you have. No need to drag yourself down keeping those subprime cards open.

Re: What to keep what to close

If it’s a card that charges an annual fee, close it.

If it doesn’t charge an annual fee, I would keep it open with a zero balance reporting.

Re: What to keep what to close

Thank you both. Yes FP charges and so does Credit one and lendup and indigo never ups your 300 limit from what I hear so I am going to cancel and may keep Ollo solely for the fico score.

Re: What to keep what to close

I keep getting preapprovals from Ollo and have been looking at it. I read on here that you have to mail them a paper check. Is that true? Do they take electronic payments? I'm on the fence with this one because I have 2 cap one cards already. Thanks!

Re: What to keep what to close

Just an update. I closed my indigo card NP they just asked why and I pointed out low limit and high APR, they said ok and closed it. I then called First Premier they sent me to the "customer specialist" I have same reason plus the lovely monthly fee. He proceeds to tell me how he is no credit expert but according to my fico it suggests I keep it open to keep the longevity of age of accounts 😂and he could wave the 8.00 months few for 3 months 😂😂😂😂. I said no thank you and he again began to talk about fico scoring. I again said close the account please SMH lol.

So those 2 are closed. I think I might keep the Ollo card solely for the cash back and free Fico 9 score. I am still on the fence with Lend up in because I don't see much about them regarding CLI and experiences as that card started at 500CL which it still is.

It does feel good closing those subprime cards👍
