Ok so on my Equifax report it shows this collection

this entry does not show up on my Experian or my Transunion reports.  However, my Transunion report shows a new collection from a new CA for this account.

I DONT remember paying this nor do I have any record of doing so.

Best steps to take ?

Thanks!

Re: What would you do?

Looks to me like it should be coming off in less than 6 months. I'd forget about it, but others will tell you the debt doesn't go away just because it's not on your report.

Unless you're trying to get a mortgage or there's some other reason you need it off your report ASAP, I'd just wait it out.

Re: What would you do?

Maybe they marked it as paid when they transferred it to the other CA.

ETA - read post as you no recollection of account vs. not remembering if paid.

Do you have anything from the OC listed on your report?  I would think they would still be listed at this time, if so, is it still showing a balance?

I would send them a DV and maybe even a copy of what you are showing there.  It shows it was paid at least about 2 years ago.

Do you recall having this account?  I just think it's odd (it could be normal, but just doesn't seem right) that the OC is not reporting, be it paid, transferred/sold.  At least IME  no OC stopped reporting once sold/placed for collection.  All of mine are sitting right there, even after payment.

Re: What would you do?

I recall it yes, i found a few statements that are really old, but nothing in the last few years.  I would certainly remember paying for it I think, however, I dont.
