In the "whats hurting your score" it shows recent late payments- does anyone know at what age is a late not considered this way anymore? A year? Or is it more?
i have one that is 1 year 1 month and it is still "recent"
The pos/neg reasons are a ranking of the most negative score impact to the least negative score impact and show the top 4 (or less depending on credit). It can continue to show as "recent" up through the full 7 years, but the damage fades with time. Eventually you might have stuff on your report like new accounts, inquiries, length of history/AAoA, or utilization that could eventually be seen as a more negative factor and could bump that off the top 4 list. Generally speaking, 30 days impact for about 2 years with 60 days being scored on par as a 30 by then. 90 days or worse are considered major derogs and impact through the end.

Llecs, I have a question. So you have an OC with 90 day derogs that eventually got charged off. Then a CA picks up the account and reports it 120 days past due. So is this 2 hits on your score until they drop off?
You are double dinged for the CO and CA. If the CA is reporting as a CA, then the 120 doesn't matter. Likewise the 90 doesn't matter so much with a CO.
Thank you for the information. Very helpful- question- when you say that the 90+ stays through the end, does that mean the impact never diminishes?

It'll diminish, but quite a bit of the impact remains through the 7 yrs.
