i have an item that is paid off and the Date of last activity is Oct, 2006 .

SOL is not the period of time it is reported, CRTP is. You can usually find a dropped date on your Credit Reports.

OP, you need to find the DOFD for that debt. It will report 7-7.5 years from that date.

It depends on what your baddie is, Most are removed in 7 yrs.

What is your baddie? a CA , CC CO, BK, tax lien or a judgement.
