Ugh.... Why does it take so long to get a score increase????? Have had 10 collections deleted this past month and only an increase of four points...... What else do I need to do.

Re: Why does it take sooooo long!!!!

There are many factors that impact your score.  If you tell us more about where you stand, we might be able to help more.

From your score report, please list the positive and negative factors.

For your specific question, how collections impact your score depend on how many you have, and how old they are.  So if you deleted had ten and deleted them all to get to none I would expect a big jump.  At the other extreme, if you had twenty and deleted the ten oldest you might not see any increase.

Wow, 10 in a month!  Good job!  As stated it can depend on what else is on your CR and how new these collections were.

Re: Why does it take sooooo long!!!!

The only positive tradelines I have is 6 student loan accounts. The negatives are a FP charge off of $374.00 which I'm paying 4/11/13. DofD 9/06. I have 7 collections account four have been pfd which will hopefully update soon. I have Sallie Mae late payments that are in dispute because I was deferred so waiting on advocates to get back with me on these (4 loans) two lates are 90 days from 4/2011. The others are (2 loans) oct-march of 2012 120 days late. This is my EQ.

On TU and EX once the pfd are removed I will only have 1 paid collection account vs the 3 paid collection account on EQ.

Re: Why does it take sooooo long!!!!

I really want to get a new car around July or August and I'm hoping I can get my scores up. Right now TU is a 569 haven't updated since Feb, and EQ is by far the worse at 504. But this is the report with all of the collections showing. I know it's just a waiting game but I wanna stay motivated and keep at it but I'm getting a little discouraged

Don't get discouraged! I found what car I want and hung a picture of it on the refrigerator. This motivates me every day.

Sounds like a good idea! I really want a buick enclave! I have found a few for under 25 and really would like to have the credit to back me up. I definitely don't want an outrageous interest rate
