Will calling Collection Agency affect score?

I have some old collections that I am trying to correct.  As I don't knwo what a couple fo them are I would like to call the CA to get more information.

Will calling the CA to ask questions affect my credit score?  Is it possible they will send an update to the CRA just because I call to ask questions?  If so I would problably just dispute them and not call.

No, just calling will not hurt your score.

If you are unsure what they are, send the CA a DV letter.

No, you are asking for validation of the debt. 

Why would you think that?  Did you read it somewhere?
