Written off line of credit

My ex-husband and I divorced last year.  During the divorce, he agreed to take on his personal debt, as well as a LOC that was from a business he had.  Last month, I noticed that the LOC had hit my credit report as written off by the bank and I was listed as cosigner.  This dropped my score from 700-something to 598.  I was never notified as the cosigner that he hadn't been paying on it.  If I was, I would have paid it off to avoid this happening.  I have no idea where to go from here, or if I have any options.....any advice would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the forums!

I'm going to move this to the Rebuilding forum; this question doesn't really fit neatly into our categories but will likely get the best response there.

Re: Written off line of credit

I would contact the creditor and see if they will work with you.  Maybe if you pay it off they will remove it.
