Yippee!

I am so excited I want to shout for joy!!

I have been working to rebuild my credit for a year now. No lates in over a year. For the past few months I have been goodwilling some old paid collections and working on 2 judgments. I had 1 judgment paid and removed from all 3 bureau's. I posted on someone else's post that it was only removed on Experian and Equifax. I went on TU website to process another dispute for it and noticed it was no longer there!! So as long as I was on there I disputed a Midland collection account that is paid. It was listed as disputed (a goodwill only got them to continuously report it as "disputed" and I don't want that).

I figured I would do the same on all 3 reports.
I get to Experian where all but 1 of my medical collections are and are from the same hospital and same CA  (the other 1 is on TU and nothing has worked to get that removed) to find a new medical reported! I KNOW everything was paid a few months back and nothing new has come up! I am SO glad I decided to take another shot at it!

I called the CA to discuss it. A few months ago I had sent a payment to the OC and they applied it to my ex-husbands account in error. They were supposed to move the $ to where it was originally supposed to go and I was going to send a check for his account (That is a whole another problem in and of itself. But it was only 1 so I paid it). They didn't. The CA called the OC, they were in the process of issuing me a refund because their records showed paid. Yeah, 2 months later. The CA adjusted their records, had the OC adjust theirs as well, AND told me she would removed ALL the collections from my credit report and she is sending me out paper documentation to attest to this. There are 7 of them on Experian!!!

It has been such a hard journey but rewards such as todays make it all worth it!!

In a month or two (when disputes are processed) I am submitting an app with USDA for my first home on my own!!

Re: Yippee!

Now I am rethinking the Midland deletion (if possible).

Would you have this deleted?.

Re: Yippee!

As someone graciously pointed out, deleting a CA is always good.

But the Chase account still applies. Is the length of the tradeline outweighing the bad? Is it worthy to try for a delete?

My brain feels fried. This is so much info to sort through and keep straight.

Re: Yippee!

If you want a house, it is best to get all negs removed even if it lowers your AAoA. They would rather see that then see that you don't pay your bills!

You might get dinged a little bit, but in the long run it would be worth it. It would have stayed on your credit report for a long time.

Re: Yippee!

Thank you everyone!

I plan to pull my scores after these disputes are processed. All I am looking for is a mid score of at least 640.

All I know prior is that my TU04 score was 617 in June. I have had some positive changes so I should be able to reach it.

Re: Yippee!

I know in mortgage terms, a 120 day late is considered a foreclosure.  I can't imagine it's any better for a CC.  I'd get it deleted regardless of AAoA if possible.  Obviously, try for the lates removed, but I'd get that deleted unless  was waiting til late 2014 to buy.

However: if you're definitely going the FHA / USDA / etc route, I'd check with their people on it.
